They have Sydney Spring here

A view from my window (not) this morning (because MGM says I haven’t taken sufficient advantage of our hello-world bathroom for my window views). I took this last night whilst watching mr naked guy in the building opposite watching me (I was not naked)

Vancouver and Sydney have many things in common. They are both beautiful harbour cities (although Sydney could learn a lesson from Vancouver’s brilliant ferry service); they both have vibrant restaurant district (Vancouver wins for the foodies but Sydney gets the coffee trophy); and Spring.

Ask any Sydney-sider to describe their Spring and they’ll say on any day we have ALL the weather & so it is here. Sunshine in the morning while we were catching the ferry to Granville Island

And, because we know a thing or two about this kind of Spring, we worked through all our layers as the day warmed up and the shopping got exciting. THERE ARE BEAD SHOPS HERE! By the second one I was at the go-no-further layer (t-shirt).

There is so much to see & eat here it can’t really be done in a day, hopefully we’ll get back here this trip for some more exploring. It’s lucky we have Erin to guide us otherwise I think we’d still all be wandering around drooling trying to decide on lunch fair.

We started adding the layers back on as we were heading home and the clouds were closing in and the breeze was breezing.

And back to bright sunny skies by 8pm on our way home from dinner at the local grocery shop, which sounds weird but isn’t. You should see this shop. Think cafe with a boutique green grocery/whole goods scenario, it’s delightful.

MGM & I are leaving the Besties to settle up the hotel bill tomorrow (what are friends for) because we’re on the road at ugly o’clock to catch the Rocky Mountaineer. I might not sleep tonight - it’s very exciting.
