New Zealand bound: day 1 departing Sydney

No time for pre-trip posting this time so I'm just jumping right in with the view from my window this morning ...

Not too shabby, right?

The fabulous Tony & Wendy dropped us off at Sydney International Cruise terminal this morning and then said farewell! It doesn't seem right to be setting off without our travelling buddies however set off we did - on the enormously overwhelming Royal Caribbean Ovations of the Seas, just look at the size of her! This is not my photo but I just had to show you how big this ship is. When we were sitting at the Quay, enjoying the glorious Sydney sights, we were actually higher than the Toaster which was opposite us.

We had plenty of time to wander the ship and get a feel for our home away from home for the next 10 days. I think I might be spending some time in this spot ...

an adults only bar and pool area right at the front of the ship

and also this lovey spot right down the other end of the ship which is very posh and just for people with suites (yes I know ... so spoilt). We can come here for complimentary drinks and canapes every day so this is where we will be having our staff meeting Tony. And yes the photo-bombing you all know and, I'm sure love as much as I do, will feature in this trip. Just look at his bony knee OH MY goodness I love this man!

Oh and I have plans to spend some quality sea-day time here ...

and possibly here ;)
I even managed a nanna-nap today! It is tiring stuff this holidaying in the lap of luxury ...

and I awoke to discover we were under way.

I am looking forward to two days of this view

and to sharing the sights of this short trip with you. Sea you all tomorrow ... yes the error was intentional, I just crack myself up.

  1. Wow...it's a floating palace. Probably should be called "Opulence of the Seas". I'm wondering if there is "cavitation" in the dining area?

  2. No Wendy and Tony? I just assumed you were all going!

Oh my gosh, those pools areas - that second one looks like something straight out of Star Trek.

    Happy sailing!
