Sumptuous Prague: a little bit of Mozart with our meal

The view from my window this morning

Today's highlights:

The Castle precinct.

A walk in the gardens

where we were not allowed to take, amongst other things, hands, feet or Segways more about Segways later)

and this is why you visit the Czech Republic, for the glass

this is why you come in the warmer months, in winter the sun doesn't get this strong, well at least in our experience anyway.

We met up some of MGM's rellies who drove all the way from Tangamunde (about 10 hours) to have lunch with us. Like some people who drive all the way to Canberra for dinner (in-joke Rob & Liz will get it). This really is the family and friends trip.

All that culture/history makes a person hungry and we take our obligation to sample the local cuisine very seriously. This is Trdelník. Sweet bread cooked over hot coals and rolled in spiced sugar. yes, in case you're wondering they are as good as they sound.

Walking down from the castle (to compensate for all the sweeties we ate), across the the Charles bridge with a few thousand on our closest friends, is certainly something you don't experience when travelling in winter.

but the view was worth it.

The afternoon was devoted to beer drinking (menfolk) and marketing (womenfolk)

Allans you will be pleased to know that we didn't miss the 'spectacular' astronomical clock. We had dinner in a restaurant directly opposite so we had prime seats to see the spectacular-ness, see it over Tony's shoulder there? They were as impressed by the spectacularity as you all were.

actually we were here to have three course meal accompanied by chamber music concert - how very cultured are we?! It was a truly magical experience that I will remember as a highlight of a trip full of high moments.
