There is a museum attached to this graveyard which memorialises the 80,000+ Prague Jews deported, arrested, interned and lost in WWII. I've seen monuments to the fallen before and always find them powerful but I was not prepared for my visceral reaction to seeing all those names on the wall, and I'm not Jewish. I can't begin to understand how overwhelming it must be to see a family name there.
Makes me weep for the pain and tragedy inflicted and endured.
There's a Dali, Mucha, Warhol exhibition in town which made for a pleasurable afternoon for Tony and me, whilst Mike and Wendy (2 Wendy's ... confusing isn't it?) had some sibling bonding time.
Crazy crowds outside/calm culture inside - total no-brainer.
Tony & I also found our way to Our Lady of Tyne cathedral ... beautiful
and I think there might have been some chocolatey adventures for Wendy & Mike.
and then there was a wee bit of Segway riding
so
much
squealy
fun
I look terrified don't I? the look didn't go away but I did add a squeal ;)
as the sun set on our day it was not time to rest...
oh no - not the intrepid AllansBestsAbroad, it was evening entertainment time. Night photography, but first a visit to a library, as you do - well who can walk past a library attraction like this!
if you look inside you get a great reward.
The Prague Castle and Charles bridge (Tony did all the work to get this shot, but I learned a lot)
