This is our cake lunch, my cake is the one next to the excellent double espresso, looks good ... Yes? Tasted like the smell of a public restroom. You're not the only one to wonder how can the smell of a place be captured in a taste, MGM was curious enough to try it and confirmed that in fact, yes this is possible. Then generously gave me his (which was yummy) & yes, I am aware of how lucky I am.
Odd tasting food aside this is another pretty garden city. We started out walk at the old town hall - "what's this?" I said to MGM ... "markets? Well how did that happen?!" (yes ladies I do my research).
Then we followed the church spire we could see in the distance, you can see it too - just poking its head out of the trees.
To find this peaceful church in which to spend some quiet moments in prayer - the best way to start the day.
Then we were on the road again - we had a dinner date that we could not miss, because we've had dinner at Marta and Christer's house before and we know what an amazing cook Marta is!
Whilst travelling around this huge lake we saw a lot of this
And this
threes things of Sweden
water and wide open spaces
tress
&
good food
I was interested to be told during dinner conversation that the fence you can see above is not to stop people getting in to the forest to stop to the moose from getting out and causing havoc on the roads. The forests are free for everyone to roam in here. Isn't that just lovely.
We did stop briefly to refuel and play silly buggers ...
Before arriving at the ferry to cross to the island where Marta and Christer live. Last time we were on this ferry we were forging our way through icey waters, which was an amazing experience but it seems the landscape is awesome at any time of the year.
Those yellow boats are the ferries, in case you were wondering.
This is what the daylight trip looks like and it is equally pretty at night.
Another lovely day in the land of beautiful things and wonderful people.
Oh wow, that photo of the lake and the ferries - so beautiful!
