The view from my window this early morning (yes, it is dawn. Yes, I did go back to bed).
MGM’s idea of ending this vacation with an 11 day cruise was a stroke of genius. Clothes in drawers and on hangers, the same bed every night & nap, always knowing where the loo is … these simple pleasures added to the suite luxury are a recipe for happy & relaxed Allans Abroad.
Listening to the ocean & lulled by the rocking I slept so well even made it to breakfast, which is in the Italian restaurant. And look, it really Is Italian bc the coffee is good.
What do I mean by good? If an espresso is delicious without sugar (which I believe is how it it meant to be consumed) it is rich, full-bodied & not bitter - that’s good coffee. Also real freshly squeezed oj. This trip there have been a lot of promises ‘yes the juice is freshly squeezed’ made by wait-staff whose pants should have immediately burst into flames. Not in this case though, this juice is the genuine article.
Today, while MGM was in & out seeing and doing things all over the ship, I was happily content to crochet and watch the wilderness wander by my window.
Lucky I have him or I’d be in this beautiful room for the whole 11 days and never really see or do very much at all. He bought lunch back to he room but coaxed me out for dinner (I’m glad I went) & a show (the costuming was pretty).
but the highlight of the evening was seeing him at the discotheque.
Definitely worth coming out of the room for this.
