Okay, so definitely not autumn today as we ascended the 5th station of Mt Fuji. The locals are very happy to see some snow on the peak, I was very happy to see some snow on the ground although I was not dressed for it and struggled a bit with that. I love the snowy cold as you know, but I like to be dressed for it so I was miffed to be ill prepared. Nevertheless we were there for a tourist stop and hopeful of seeing something other than misty clouds after lunch, mt Fuji is up there somewhere (I’m told)
Would you like to see us? Here we all are
She did pop her head out of the clouds much to to joy of the people sitting on the left side of the bus who saw this
And very kindly shared their photos with the people sitting on our side of the bus sitting dejectedly not seeing it.
We spent the day in the environs though so had other photo ops, don’t worry all is not lost.
I was thrilled to be catching some autumn colours today, starting to worry I’d missed them but look at this wonderfulness at Kawaguchiko lake.
We would have loved to have more time here, there was an interesting looking cable car, also paddle boats and shops but there was only time for photos and a quick pee (never pass up that opportunity).
Next stop was Oshino Village, a quaint little tourist village built around five ponds. Has some shops etc.
And what’s that I see? Why yes there is my chance to get my own pic of Mt Fuji. Zoom in you can see it better
How nice are the colours in those trees! ❤️ LW and CF love and miss you too
ReplyDeleteNorah B and Thea Grace also send kisses and miss you very much
